2. How can I order Cal Test Products?

Answer: Cal Test Electronics’ primary focus is with OEM’s (Original Equipment Manufactures) in selected markets, and therefore does not support small quantity sales either direct or web based. That is why this site does not have a shopping cart.

If you are an OEM or OEM Distributor (private brand), we encourage you to view our selection and contact us for specification, configuration, pricing and or delivery information.

If you are company or individual seeking selected product for end use application, please feel free to contact us for application and technical information. Cal Test Electronics can then point you to a selected number of distributors that carry our products either as private brand or under the Cal Test Electronics part number.

3. What is an OEM?

Answer: An OEM is the acronym for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Loosely translated, it refers to a company that builds and then resells a product. An example is a test instrument company that purchases an oscilloscope probe kit to include with their instrument.
Cal Test Electronics also applies this definition to companies that purchase its accessories as a private branded item, i.e., marked or packaged with the company’s own name or brand.

4. Can you cross a competitor’s products?

Answer: Yes, in most cases, but with a caveat. No test accessory company can cross another’s offering 100% - maybe not even 30%. There are too many variations, designs, ideas, and history. Technology and the market keeps advancing.

In most cases, a close cross is available on the more popular items but a “not quite” on the vast majority.
This is both good and bad for the customer. Good that there are so many solution possible, but bad in that one can’t ask for a competitor’s part number and obtain a ready replacement.

This is where Cal Test Electronics’ expertise comes in play. With over 3,000 items and 30 years of experience, we can tell you what crosses exactly, closely, or not at all. Maybe we can suggest an even better solution. But, if your needs are specific, we have no problem pointing to a competitor if it helps to solve the problem. This is our pledge.

5. What is meant by the Status: “Stock” and/or “Order.”

Answer: For commonly ordered items, Cal Test Electronics maintains either a “Stock” or a quick turnaround status. Items with the “Order” designation usually have a 2 week minimum lead time for OEM quantities.

5. What is Cal Test Electronics’ general product warranty?

Answer: Cal Test Electronics’ products carry a 1 year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Cal Test Electronics will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace any product returned and found to be defective within 1 year of original shipment.

This warranty does not apply to products that exceed the warranty period, have been subject to misuse, neglect, accident, or that have been altered or repaired by anyone other than Cal Test Electronics.

In no case will Cal Test Electronics’ liability exceed the original purchase price. These provisions do not extend the original warranty period of any product repaired or replaced by Cal Test Electronics.
